Lifting water reliably with the right energy source — electric, solar, or diesel backup.
Submersible pumps are installed below the water surface inside the borehole casing, pushing water upward through a rising main to the surface. They are the most common and reliable pump type for deep boreholes.
We supply and install:
Pump sizing methodology: Every pump we install is correctly sized — we calculate required flow rate (m³/hr), total dynamic head (TDH), pump efficiency, and motor power requirement. An oversized or undersized pump causes premature failure and wasted energy.

Solar-powered borehole pumps are rapidly replacing diesel and grid-powered systems across Uganda. They offer unmatched long-term savings and reliability for off-grid locations.
| Component | Description |
|---|---|
| Solar PV panels | Generate DC electricity from sunlight |
| Solar pump controller / inverter | Converts DC to variable-frequency AC for the pump motor |
| Submersible pump & motor | DC brushless or AC submersible pump |
| Rising main pipe | Delivers water from pump to surface |
| Storage tank | Gravity storage buffer for when sun is not shining |
| Distribution network | Pipes delivering water to taps, troughs, or irrigation system |
A community of 500 people requiring 25 litres/person/day = 12,500 litres/day. With a TDH of 80m and 5.5 peak sun hours in Central Uganda, a typical system would require a 2.2 kW pump with a 4 kWp solar array and a 20,000-litre storage tank. We size every system based on daily water demand, total dynamic head, peak sun hours, and storage autonomy requirements.
For rural communities without electricity or reliable solar resources, hand pumps remain the most appropriate water lifting technology. We train community pump caretakers and supply spare parts kits.

The most common hand pump in Uganda, with locally available spare parts. Suitable for boreholes up to 30m water level.

Heavy-duty hand pump for deep boreholes (up to 45m water level). Extremely robust and widely supported across East Africa.

Robust cast-iron pump popular in Southern and Eastern Uganda. Known for durability in high-use community settings.

For institutions and industries where water supply continuity is critical — hospitals, hotels, factories — we install diesel generator backup systems that automatically start the pump when grid power fails.
Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) switch seamlessly between grid power and generator power without manual intervention, ensuring zero interruption to water supply.
Adequate water storage buffers against pump downtime and peak demand. We supply and install a wide range of storage solutions.

We offer annual maintenance contracts to keep your pump system running at peak performance and prevent costly breakdowns.
